I am all kinds of grateful for my time with Ms Joy.  The best way I can describe the feeling that I had after our conversations was a feeling I would get after a really heavy workout or even a tuff grind on the job and the satisfaction that comes with that. It was uncomfortable and a challenge and that was something I needed on a different level and Ms Joy provided me that space.  In the beginning I was a shade guarded, I sure wish I would have knocked that shit off and got right to it with her.  I never felt judged or soft at all with Ms Joy she served it up in a way that I could connect and comprehend.  She even would cuss some which I know sounds silly but it no doubt made me feel at ease that however shit came out my mouth she was totally connected, and she let me know with the back and forth we had.

The most helpful tool I learned from Ms Joy is how to take the time to be self-aware.  To take the time… slow down and be thoughtful to pause and consider rather than react.  That has served me well and continues to serve.  It seems like such a simple thing even as I write it down here in front of me, but it is a tool I love and it has made a great difference for me.

I love Ms Joy.  I believe in the work she does.  I believe that she cares about me and about the people she works with a deep level.  I think about her often and am blessed to have had her part of my life.
